I really enjoyed the meeting tonight and am excited to help with future events! I was surprised to see faces that I recognized. I think the kids had fun too. Our oldest son was finally able to connect with someone tonight who got him. As a mother that was an awesome thing to see!

I know Dr. Linsk quite well since he is currently our autistic sons doctor. But he will not be taking Medicaid insurance here shortly. It is very nice of him to offer his service.

Dr. Linsk (DAN! doctor from Ann Arbor) has kindly offerred to make a presentation for our group to explain the DAN! protocol of biomedical treatment approach. He has offerred to do this for us at no charge, to help educate our group members, and also any Lenawee County area families who are seeking help for their autistic children. :-) Terry.

I am a play coach who does home visits teaching parents interactive play techniques to improve autistic children's attention span, eye contact, and communication. Would like to help local families who cannot afford the more expensive play consulting options they have looked into. I am an employee of Hope Network, the Adrian location's program nurse. Hi Linda! I think you'll find lots of other families here struggling with similar issues. Quite a few people involved with Autism Hope have kids on the spectrum that qualify as high-functioning or as having Aspergers... My little guy, Drew, is still in elementary school, but is having social issues as well--academics are NOT a problem, so the students and sometimes even the staff have a hard time dealing with certain behavioral issues from an otherwise "normal functioning" kids. My email is landstromjennifer@hotmail.com if you ever want/need to talk.. I'm sure there are tons of other parents who would offer support as well!

My son, Calvin is 12 years old and has Asperger's Syndrome. He is really struggling in middle school with his social behaviors. It's hard to find support for this in Lenawee County since it is such a high functioning disorder. Dose anyone else in your group deal with this?
